Thank you for visiting my reelection campaign website. But more importantly, thank you for caring about something I also care deeply about—Martin County.
You and I have something important in common: We love Martin County. We expect our quality of life to be preserved, our natural resources to be protected and our families’ futures to be secure.
These priorities form the foundation of my decisions as your Martin County Commissioner—and I sincerely hope you will support my campaign for reelection.
My work is guided by the Martin County Comprehensive Growth Management Plan—a clear blueprint for attaining the highest possible quality of life for all residents by balancing environmental stewardship with economic development, arts, culture, education and recreation.
Many of you know me as the commissioner who is leading the fight against All Aboard Florida’s rail expansion. I also am fighting hard in Tallahassee and by chairing a key regional committee to protect and restore our estuaries, the Indian River Lagoon, the St. Lucie Inlet and our beaches and reefs.
As a fiscal conservative who believes in holding the line on government costs, I have
- voted against property-tax increases,
- aggressively tackled our infrastructure backlog,
- supported our Neighborhood Advisory Committees in revitalizing our Community Redevelopment Areas,
- and promoted initiatives to improve our local economy, benefiting small businesses and strengthening our core marine, aviation and tourism industries.
It is my deepest conviction that government must operate with integrity and accountability. My character was forged over 20 years in the U.S. Navy, and refined over 13 years in Martin County Veterans Services, fighting to secure the benefits local veterans and their families earned and deserved.
Prior to making my decisions on the commission, I thoroughly research every matter and engage community stakeholders and experts for input. Independent and uninfluenced by special interests or extremists, I pursue common-sense, fiscally prudent solutions that treat all citizens—and our municipal partners—with dignity and respect.
